I was lying on my belly on a deck ... 20 feet in the air ... in the pouring rain ... cutting rotton framing off the outside edge ... tethered to the house so I wouldn't fall off. All alone and soaking wet. Lyrics enter. Not wanting to ignore a guest, I wrote in my head and emailed each arriving chunk to a friend. In short order the words were done and I challenged my friend to write the music. Sadly, he didn't. Two years later I figured I'd do it myself and one week after that this song had its debut on the Nimblefingers stage in Sorrento, BC with Billy Cardine's dobro class. Truly a fun moment.
