While drinking beer with one of Ian's friends, Patrick Langille, I asked if he'd like to hear my new tune, 'Dying In Dog Years'. We went up to my room where he listened and said he liked it. As he got up to return to the party downstairs I told him that I had given Lorraine a song credit for the 'Dog Years' title. Patrick stopped at the door, turned around and said, "Well then ...how does, 'get off the table, Mabel, the money's for beer' work for you?". I went to my Underwood typewriter, wrote the chorus and the first three verses, then recited it to him fifteen minutes later. Still owe him the co-write.
