I met a clairvoyant/psychic/wica-high-priestess and before I knew it she moved into the Hockley Valley farmhouse that once housed my family ... arriving with her were two of her three children, 2 horses, 3 cats, a dog, her resentful apprentice, and an empty bank account. What seemingly began as a romantic liason (I had told her that I didn't want her to be my 'teacher') soon morphed into an emotionally brutal relationship that found me repeatedly being the recipient of both mental and emotional abuse. When my hand injury happened I got outta Dodge.
She later told me that she had been deliberately taking me through my dark side based on the premise than if one isn't familiar with their dark side it can creep up from behind and drop them to their knees ... in knowing what it is - and that it is there - one maintains control.
I remember saying, "gee, thanks"
Jury is out

This song is the first I wrote after my escape and after my hand had just begun to heal ... it either dripped or oozed out of me ... I had full use of my left thumb and a tentative use of the forefinger when I recorded this.
